A phone’s photo date comes from the device, can be edited, and is often stripped by messaging apps. Rent Net records when our server received each photo and fingerprints the file with SHA-256 on arrival.
The device time still appears, clearly labelled “device clock”. Entries can be edited only by their author, and every change is kept in an append-only history, so the report shows what was there and when it was written down.
